While most of our articles are focused on how economic and other financial factors might impact your personal financial security, we are going to be a bit self-centered today and let you know of some changes we are making at our organization.
We recently changed our branding and name. Those of you who follow us know that we do a radio show every Saturday morning on Keni Radio 650 AM and the name of the show is “Retirement in the Last Frontier”. Our radio show has been very well received and while we know our content is the primary driver for that success, we also know our show name resonates with people who are in our primary market; those who are soon to be retired or have recently retired.
We have been mulling around the idea of how we might better reflect who we are in our branding message and the idea of a name change rose to the surface. We wanted our name to support our radio show message and we wanted our name to provoke folks in our primary market to really think about where they are in their financial life.
So, moving forward we will be identifying ourselves under our new marketing name of “Frontier Retirement”. One of the definitions of the word Frontier is “A region just beyond or at the edge of a settled region”.
We think this perfectly defines who we are … a financial services company working with folks who are heading into a region just beyond their settled working years of their financial life. People who are at the precipice of a totally new time in their lives … a time that will provide hope and optimism, but with new risks and unknowns that may make the journey interesting, to say the least.
As is the case with any journey into the unknown, the more you know at the front end of the journey and the better prepared you are, the higher the chance of success along the way. Additionally, journeys into unknown territory come with many possible risks and will likely require the ability to be able to adapt and change along the way … so we need to pack our covered wagons in a way that will allow changes in how we are traversing the landscape without the wagon wheels falling off and bringing our trip on the trails ahead to a screeching halt.
The journey into this unknown territory called retirement is exciting and there is much to look forward to. Having someone help you pack your wares, though, could be the difference between a smooth, enjoyable, and uneventful trip and one that is riddled with disaster around every turn.
We welcome the opportunity to help you pack your wares and we hope you now see better how important it is, at this time of your life, to have a guide to help consider what you need to bring with you and where you will find help when you come across detours and road changes along the way.
My name is David A. Kutcher, a retired Marine Corp Captain. My business partner in the lower 48 is Richard C. Scott, CLU, LUTCF. For nearly 40 years we have been packing mules and wagons, issuing road maps, and checking the trails ahead for possible roadblocks for those standing at this precipice we call retirement.
We encourage you to make an appointment and plan your trip with us.
