Sweet Roll Dough
(Friendship – Large Batch. Tea Rings or Sweet Rolls)
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
2 qt. hot water
1 c. vegetable oil
3 beaten eggs
2 tsp. yeast
Approximately 5 lb. flour
Mix together Eagle Brand milk and hot water in large bowl. When cool to warm temperature, add oil, eggs and yeast. Stir, then add flour. Work by hand; may be a little sticky. Coat with shortening. Set aside to raise.
To make Tea Rings: Roll out ¼ batch of dough 8 x 14. Spread with butter and margarine. Sprinkle cinnamon/sugar mixture over top, spreading raisins or chopped pecans. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Roll carefully into tubular form, then into circular shape. Cut into slices ¾-inch. Place in greased pan. Pat with shortening. Raise, covered with cloth, until double in size. Bake at 375˚F approximately 30 to 35 minutes, until golden brown. While warm, may be topped with a light powdered sugar frosting adding orange juice.
