The Lancer Smith Memorial Wrestling Tournament also featured a junior varsity event last weekend at the Menard Center in Wasilla.
Bethel wrestler Brandon Ayapan took first place in the 112 lb. bracket. Jackson Iverson, also of Bethel, placed 6th overall in the 140 lbs. weight class.
Chevak’s Laiton Pingayak won 3rd in the 103 lb. boys division. His teammate Ace Hill placed 6th in the 130 lb. weight class. Ian Chayalkun, also of Chevak, won 4th in the 140 lb. division. 152 lb. wrestler Liam Pinagayak-Green took 5th place.
Cuttler Matthew of Quinhagak took 5th in the 125 lb. bracket.
