The Bethel Lady Warriors volleyball team traveled to Nome this past weekend for the 3A Western Conference volleyball finals. Teams from Bethel, Kotzebue, and Barrow joined the host Nome team at the Home of the Nanooks. The Lady Warriors placed 3rd overall. Coming in first were the Barrow Lady Whalers, in second were the Nome Nanooks. Kotzebue was fourth. The Bethel Lady Warriors won the Sportsmanship and Academic Awards.
On Friday Bethel played Nome and lost 3-1. Bethel won the second set. On Saturday Bethel played Nome again and lost 3-2. Bethel won the second and third sets. Barrow defeated Nome 3-1. The State 3A Volleyball tournament will be in Anchorage November 9-10, 2023 at the Alaska Airlines Center.
