February Kwethluk Sprint Dog Race Results

The Kwethluk Dog Race took place on February 11, 2023 last month and Raymond Alexie continues to dominate the local sprint races this year. He won the race in a field of seventeen teams in the event. The race had an 8-dog limit and was 50 miles.

Alexie won the race in 3 hours, 46 minutes. Coming in second was Mike Williams Jr. of Akiak, his time was 3 hours 55 minutes. In third was Darren George of Akiachak finished in 4 hours, 6 mins.

Third and fourth place finishers Darren George and Jackie Larson of Napaskiak had a close end to their race with only 5 seconds separating the two teams at the finish line.

Leighton Wassilie of Akiachak won the Red Lantern Award.
