The Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches (AABC) will be hosting all-star games for graduating seniors including a college recruitment support, and skills competitions for 3-point shooting, free throws, and a slam dunk contest.
Students participating from the Yukon Kuskokwim delta region include Raylene Henry of Akiachak, Isabella Peterson of St. Mary’s, Josiah Sundown of Scammon Bay, Stewie Sundown of Scammon Bay, Ethan Alstrom of St. Mary’s, Ryan Nashoanak of Tukurngailnguq, Carson Long of Hooper Bay, Latrell Lake of Hooper Bay, Carliese O’Brien of Bethel/Mt. Edgecumbe, and Bessie Williams of Mt. Edgecumbe.
The events will begin on April 12th, 2024 with a college recruitment support speaker, and the 3-point competition. On Saturday, April 13th, the games will begin at 2pm with the 1A/2A Senior Girls All Star game. At halftime will be the girls and boys 3-point finals.
At 3:30pm, the 1A/2A Senior Boys All Star game will begin. Halftime will feature the free throw competition.
The 3A/4A senior girls game will be at 5:30pm. At halftime there will be a AABC Hall of Fame Inductions presentation. The boys 3A/4A senior game will take place at 7:15pm with the slam dunk competition at halftime.
Participants will also take part in the Alaska Exposure Girls and Boys College Showcase Camps.
