Elsie Christine Isaac “Chris-ayagaq” Nov. 30, 1953 – Feb. 27, 2017

Elsie Christine Isaac “Chris-ayagaq” was born on November 30, 1953 to Sophie (Mute) Jack and Eddie Jack. She enjoyed cutting fish at fishcamp with her family in her early years, crocheting, sewing, subsistence gathering, playing bingo, giving feasts for family parties/celebrations, and most of all she loved taking pictures of everyone.

When you walked into her home she would grab her camera and take your picture whether you liked it or not and there always had to be one more picture taken.

The last time her niece stopped by, Chris-aq told her that her camera had broken and she couldn’t take pictures. She always gave her friends/family copies of the pictures she had taken as gifts. She touched so many lives wherever she went. She welcomed anyone into her home.

When she lived in Bethel she fostered some children in the early 90’s. Many have said that she had a small stature but a HUGE heart. She loved and touched everyone’s life that she encountered. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter Alicia and son-in-law Harry Wassilie; son Aaron; grandchildren Zaret, Angela, Cheryl and Charlene; sister Julia (and Andrew) Hunter Sr.; brothers Carl (and Bonnie) Jack, Michael Jack, and Joey Gregory. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives too numerous to name.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alexie Isaac; her parents Sophie and Eddie Jack; sisters Ruth and Annie Jack; brothers Gregory and Noah Jack, and another brother that passed when he was young.

The family would like to thank those who gave us support in our time of loss. Special thanks to: Anchorage Police Department, Alaska Airlines for transporting her body home, Oscar Active and James Active Jr. (Buzzo) for making the cross, ONC, BNC, Calista, Anchorage Funeral Home, and the Moravian Church. Special thanks to those that donated money, brought food, and flowers. A big quyana for those that helped with dishes, and for all who brought comfort and prayers for our family.

God Bless each and every one of you!
