The more we give, the more we get

by Peter Twitchell

I received a piece of mail today with a statement in front.

It read: “Who is your Rock?”

I wrote beside it, “The Almighty God, The Creator of Heaven and Earth, My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth.”

I give my answer credence, because I believe it, and give it 100 percent, my mental acceptance as true, real.

Nothing else can be my rock on this earth, because we all fail each other as human beings, all vulnerable to the world’s whims, and failures. As mankind we are only human.

Even a solid rock crumbles and breaks! God’s blessings to us never cease. Our homes are warm, our refrigerators empty out, and yet we eat every day.

It is so true, the more we give, the more we get. The more we love and really care about others, we find that life is good and friends are kind.

After one of the deadliest epidemics known to man, the good Lord God our Savior has allowed us to walk this Earth a while longer.

I attended our family’s long time friend, the late Ben Dale’s funeral. We were all in line to say our farewells when “Sompy” Elliott turned to me and made this profound statement, “We’re all getting in line for our turn Peter.”

Yes, we are indeed, we too shall pass.

I have a friend in Martha Scott, who came to Bethel from Colorado and helped each person she knew with kindness, including our children.

My iluq Joe Chimegalrea has been helping me to find gigs where I could sing my songs and play my guitar at Elder dances. It is much appreciated, when others would ignore me and completely write me off.

Let’s do our part to help others with the remaining time we have left. Let’s face it, one of these days we will stand before our Lord God Almighty to be judged for the kind of people we were on Earth. It would be wonderful to hear God say to us; “Well done my true and faithful servant.”
