Here is a recipe for delicious Spicy Cake Donuts by Alice Nerby from the “Alaskan Grub Box” recipe book by Sis Laraux. So good.
Spicy Cake Donuts
3 ½ c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. salt
¾ c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2/3 c. light cream
¼ c. melted butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream eggs, sugar, cream and margarine together, then add dry ingredients alternately. Beat until blended. Chill dough for 2 hours. Roll dough on floured surface to 3/8 thickness and cut with a donut cutter. Fry in hot grease, turning on each side. Drain on paper towel. Make a mixture of sugar and cinnamon and roll each before serving. Makes about 20.
