Billy Norbert Westlock

Nov. 20, 1972 – July 4, 2022

Billy Norbert Westlock, lovingly named after Aupalria & Aurralria, was born in Bethel on November 20, 1972 to Gordon Sr. and Nora Westlock. He entered Eternal Life on July 4, 2022. Billy was well-known to many people in various parts of Alaska. He was kind and humble, and through his friendly nature he loved to tease people. He enjoyed helping people whenever help was needed.

Billy graduated from Emmonak High School in 1991. After graduating, he furthered his education by attending the Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC). He earned his Plumbing Certificate in 2000.

Billy married the love of his life, Bonnie Damien, on November 4th, 1995. They raised five children: Olympia, Scotty, Tony, Cliffy and Darlene AnnMarie. Billy and Bonnie made their home in Alakanuk until they had to move to Anchorage. They then moved to Emmonak in 2003.

While growing up, Billy was a fisherman’s helper with his Uncle John Westlock and later became a fisherman. He worked with Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation for 22 years. He worked in many villages helping them with their water-sewer facilities. While working with YKHC, he made many friends. He made it a priority to get his work done and completed.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, and their children: Olympia (and Cody) & children Taya & Wade; Scotty (and Kateri) and children Hazel & Amelia; Tony, Cliffy and Darlene AnnMarie. His parents, Gordon & Nora; sister Amy Chikigaq (Vernon) & children Carl, Todd, and Casey, sister Louise Westlock-Polty (Alfred) and brothers, Gordon Jr. (Mary) Malachi, Levi, Charity & Dakota, Leonard (Tammy), Chris, Gracelyn, Makayla & Alice and Jeffrey A. Westlock -Polty; Many uncles, aunts, & cousins in Emmonak and St. Marys: his mother-in-law, Theresa Damien and Audie, Buddy, Babyrae, and T.J..

Billy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Billy & Lucille Westlock; Aunts & Uncles: Ursula & Alex Kozevenikoff, Alice & Phillip Immamak, Oscar Leopold Sr.; Cousins: Oscar Leopold Jr., Richard Andrews and Roberta Charles; his maternal grandparents, Billy & Alice Polty of St. Marys; his paternal uncles, Elias and Norbert Polty; his father-in-law, Clifford Damian and sister-in-law, Darlene Damian, both of Alakanuk.
