Bethel Lady Warrior wrestlers competed at the 2023 Monster Bash Tournament held at South Anchorage High School last Friday and Saturday and took home the first place team trophy.
Taking home gold medals on Day 1 and Day 2 were Jordan Klejka (120 lbs.) and Isabel Lieb (132 lbs.). Winning the silver medal were Riley Boney (138 lbs.). And bronze medal winners included Michelle Kilanak (100 lbs.), and Kayleigh Bell (114 lbs.).
On Day 2, Kilanak won 3rd place. Bell and Boney placed 2nd, and their teammate Iceis Harpak (138 lbs.) won 4th place.
Also wrestling in the Monster Bash Women`s Tournament were Alexia Kaganak (126 lbs.) and Ashlynn Lonewolf (126 lbs.).
“Jordan Klejka is currently 19-3 on the season and Isabel Lieb is 20-0. This also notched Jordan’s first High School tournament win,” says Bethel Warrior Head Coach Darren Lieb. “Up next is the Mountain City Christian Academy (formerly ACS) tournament where we should see most, if not all, of the top statewide competition. That competition begins this upcoming Friday morning.”
