The respectful hush of the gym, the atmosphere of focus and concentration, the gracious sportsmanship and comradery are the characteristics that embodies Native Youth Olympics, and this can be found wherever an NYO event is taking place. NYO is coming to Bethel on April 5-6, 2024 when the Bethel Regional High School Warriors host their Invitational event. Events on Friday include the Kneel Jump, Wrist Carry, Scissor Broad Jump, the 1-Hand Reach, Toe Kick, 1-Foot High Kick, AK High Kick, 2-Foot High Kick, and the Eskimo Stick Pull. Saturday’s games include the Seal Hop, Indian Stick Pull, and the Awards Ceremony. Come and cheer for the athletes!

The state NYO event will take place April 25-27, 2024 at the Alaska Airlines Center. There will be cultural performances, the opening ceremonies grand parade, a celebration of graduates and the Blanket Toss, academic excellence awards and a scholarship award, along with the events and team awards, including the Best Banner contest.
