Bryan Allen Schwartz

June 19, 1960 – Oct. 16, 2022

Bryan Allen Schwartz of Springfield, Missouri born to Robert and Ella (Allen) Schwartz, June 19, 1960, in Granite City Illinois passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in Cordova Alaska, leaving 62 years of memories to cherish.

Bryan was a graduate of Mehlville Senior High School and of Parks College of St. Louis University with a B.S. Degree in Aeronautics.  His passion for flying led him to pursue his aviation certificate, and start his business, Nunak Air Taxi Dba Friendship Air.

Early in his career he discovered his love for Alaska which is where Bryan met the love of his life, Katie Chimiugak. They were married September 3, 1999, in Louisville, KY, and from this union they were blessed with four children.

Bryan was of the Baptist Faith and in his free time enjoyed playing chess, working crossword puzzles, and working in his yard, but flying gave him the greatest enjoyment.

Bryan is preceded in death by his father Robert P. Schwartz, Sr, his twin brother Bruce Schwartz, Jr., and their younger sister, Christina Yochum. Bryan leaves his wife Katie Schwartz, daughters Crystal Brownlow (Schwartz)/Jakob Brownlow and their daughter Bella, Melissa Schwartz, and sons David Schwartz and Daniel Schwartz, Mother Ella (Allen) Schwartz, brother Robert Jr. and his wife (Joan) Schwartz, and sister Cheryl Schwartz, among many nieces, nephew, aunts, and uncles.

Visitation for Bryan was on Monday, November 7, 2022, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services were Monday, November 7, 2022, 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
