LKAA Scholarship seeking applicants

The Lower Kuskokwim Administrator’s Association (LKAA) is granting up to four $1,000 scholarships for any past graduate of an LKSD high school pursuing a degree in the field of education. (graduating high-school seniors may also apply). Those candidates currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution will be given first consideration. All application materials must be collected by the applicant and sent in one package or emailed directly to:

The deadline for postmarked materials is March 18, 2022. Selections will be made shortly thereafter.

Qualified applicants need to submit ALL the following items:

1. Completed LKAA Scholarship Application form; 2. Copy of your High School Transcript; 3. Transcripts of earned college credits to date (if any). Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Collect and send these with all other application materials; 4. If a graduating Senior, a completed college acceptance letter and a corresponding agreement to attend; 5. Essay of interest and educational philosophy which should include: A. Your future educational and career plans. B. Why are you pursuing a career in education? C. Your major field of interest within education; D. A description of your philosophy of education.

Required: Letter of recommendation from: A. A faculty member or teacher; B. A person for whom you have worked or whom you know well, preferably not a relative.
