Bethel Kids Vote results

The City of Bethel asked the youth of our community to help decide where to put playground equipment for 5-8 year olds and during the week of December 13th, 2021 the youth of Bethel voted.

The Bethel Kids Vote Program took place at Bethel Regional High School, Ayaprun Elitnaurvik, Bethel Youth Facility, Kuskokwim Learning Academy, Gladys Jung Elementary, and Mikelnguut Elitnaurviat. The question on the ballot was:

Should the City of Bethel buy park equipment for: Pinky’s Park or Harbor Park.

“The students filled out their ballot and cast their ballots into a voting machine, just like our registered voters on Election Day!” stated the Bethel Kids Vote Program staff. “The total votes cast were calculated and here are the results.”

Pinky’s Park: 489

Harbor Park: 211

“The City of Bethel would like to send a thank you to the University of Alaska Cooperative Extension, the Lower Kuskokwim School District, and Dominion Voting, for their partnership and support of this growing program.”
