The 59th Annual Association of Village Council Presidents Convention will be held in person on Wednesday & Thursday, September 20 – 21, 2023 at the Cultural Center starting at 8:30 a.m. The theme is “Strong Roots Protect Our Future” “Nutemllaat Qaunqaat Ciunerkarput”. The Convention will stream live on Facebook. AVCP will kick off day 1 by hearing from our keynote speaker, Honorable Congresswoman Mary Peltola. Following Mrs. Peltola’s address will be AVCP’s Annual Programmatic updates, Financial Reports and RHA Elections. The Convention will also include the announcement of 2023 resolutions, elected AVCP Unit Representatives, recognition of the 2023 AVCP Award recipients and the Bering Sea Elders Group presentation. Additionally, the following updates will be provided by the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN), AVCP Region Priorities and Legislative Responses.
