Anna Lee Guinn

July 17, 1970 – May 3, 2023

Anna Lee Guinn was born on July 17, 1970 to John Guinn and Margaret “Tootsie” Guinn in Bethel, Alaska. She passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023. Anna graduated from Bethel Regional High School in 1990.

She loved children and worked as a babysitter and a substitute teacher at M.E. School for many years. She worked as a caregiver at home and enjoyed helping Tootsie and Tess with elections every year. She always had a big, infectious smile and hug for everyone. She loved fishcamp, picking berries, taking Booga for walks by the river, oldies music (especially CCR), scary movies, gardening with Ju-Ju and Tootsie, the “Family Store,” ice cream, and steel-toe boots.

Anna was preceded in death by her mother Tootsie Guinn. She is survived by her father John Guinn; sisters Tess (husband Rick) and Judith “Ju-Ju”; brother Robert “Pooder”; niece Sara (husband Alex); nephew Charles; great nephew Charles “Booga”; and great niece Emmalynn.

John Guinn and his family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone that helped us honor Anna’s memory and lay her to rest. Thank you to the brave family and friends that came to view her prior to her ceremony in church. Big Bethel thank you’s to the Bethel Police Department, YKHC, VFW Post 10041 & Auxiliary, Orutsararmiut Native Council, City of Bethel City Clerk’s office, Northern Air Cargo, AMW Property Management, Guinn Building Services, Angelus Chapel Legacy Heritage Funeral Home in Anchorage, State Medical Examiner’s office, Tess’ coworkers at AVCP, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Swanson’s Store and all the wonderfully determined family and friends that assisted greatly during the wild sand storm at her burial site, and everyone that provided food, guidance, hugs of support, and much needed clean up afterwards at the potluck, quyana. We are grateful, Anna Banana would be so proud.
