Nurataaq Lefferts of Bethel’s artwork was selected as the 3rd/4th Grade Student Artist Winner for the 2023 Alaska License Plate Competition. The contest was sponsored by the Alaska Council on the Arts. Her artwork depicts a kaviar red fox sitting on the salmonberry and plant covered tundra. In the background are snowcapped mountains and the blue sky. Other winners hail from Anchorage (K-2), Salcha (5th-6th), Kenai (7th-8th), Fairbanks (9th-10th), and Kenai (11th-12th). Artists will be awarded a $50 honorarium. Congratulations!
