Alaska State Troopers were notified of a burglary at the city building in Napakiak on 11/12/2018. The suspect had used a crow bar to break into the building and steal a safe that was bolted down, along with other misc. items. Alfred Evan (age 52 of Napakiak) was positively identified through DNA and video evidence as being responsible for the burglary. An arrest warrant was requested and issued in the amount of $15,000. On 6/5/2019 Evan was arrested at the Bethel courthouse, where he was attending court for an unrelated criminal matter. A Bethel CSO took him into custody and remanded him to YKCC. Evan is charged with Burglary 2nd, Theft 3rd, and Criminal Mischief 5th.
