The importance of good health

by Peter Twitchell

I’m not a medical doctor but I would like to share what I saw on the news. The ad was for those who took cholesterol meds.

The announcer was talking about the sun. He said those taking cholesterol meds should not be exposed to the hot sunshine, otherwise you could get “sun poisoning”.

I couldn’t even tell you what exactly that means or the consequences. So, I have decided to see my health care provider and get to the bottom of all this and be better knowledgeable to help myself because I do take a daily cholesterol med first thing every morning.

I believe it’s best to be informed about the medicines I take daily.

I recall one day I didn’t feel so good after being out in the hot sun a few years back. I remember it wasn’t due to lack of water that day I felt ill after exposure to the hot sunshine one summer.

As patients it’s good to be aware of all the medicines we ingest daily. I know the doctor prescribes meds to patients like us to keep us healthy, and manage our overall health.

I know without physicians and medications who monitor our health we could be in a world of hurt.

Thank the Good Lord Almighty Creator God for medical personnel and medicines on the market to fight diseases like COVID Delta 19, and already cures for many diseases before and in our lifetime!

It’s up to each one of us to be aware of what we put into our body. As an example, alcohol. It has caused so much heartache for our Native people as we are all aware.

Alcohol in the human body as we all know works to destroy our body when we abuse it, and we have abused it terribly. Sad but true, I know. We all learn lessons in our life and work at teaching or grandkids a better way to live like our ancestors taught us from the beginning and as a result we are better people physically and socially.
