The Bethel Police Department participated in the High Visibility Enforcement Click-it or Ticket campaign, resulting in multiple traffic enforcement actions. The campaign was sponsored by the Alaska Department of Highway Safety, states the Bethel PD report for May 2024.
Bethel Officers conducted 76 traffic stops and 146 contacts, resulting in:
1 DUI arrest
48 citations for seat belt violations
7 child restraint violations
1 suspended driver’s license
15 uninsured motorist violations
5 speeding violations
21 other violations
29 warnings issued
Bethel Officers put in 30 hours of overtime to perform traffic enforcement actions. The Bethel PD fielded 2,379 calls that came into dispatch – 911, non-emergency, and admin calls. This is up from the 2,240 calls from April 2024.
