City honors employee for 50 years of service

Appreciation for years of service were bestowed upon William “Billy” Stuart for his 50 years of service to the City of Bethel. Vice Mayor Sophie Swope read the statement of appreciation under Special Order of Business during their May 14th, 2024 regular council meeting.

“In honor of William “Billy” Stuart and his 50 years of dedication to the City of Bethel, today I have the honor of recognizing a remarkable milestone within our city family. It is with great pleasure that I announce the 50th anniversary of William “Billy” Stuart with the City of Bethel,” said Vice Mayor Swope. “Throughout Mr. Stuart’s half century of service he has been an invaluable asset to our organization. His dependability and expertise has helped maintain access to clean healthy water for our residents. Please join me in extending our heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude to Mr. Stuart for his service over the past 5 decades. His contributions have made a lasting impact on our community and we are truly fortunate to have him as part of our city family. Congratulations Mr. Stuart on this extraordinary achievement. Here’s to many more years of success and fulfilment and your continued journey with the City of Bethel.”

“I really appreciate you guys honoring me today,” said Stuart. “And it still don’t feel like 50 years.”
