Western Alaska Sprint Dog Mushing Race Results

Emilie Entrikin of Fairbanks is the winner of the 2018 Western Alaska Sprint Championship dog race in Bethel. She had the total best time for three days of racing which took place last weekend, March 9-11, 2018. Coming in second place is Nicholas Ayapan.
The race trail was the Atmau-Tundra Trail beginning at noon each day starting at the Charles Family Lake. The Bethel Sprint Mushers Club hosted the race.
On the first day, Friday, Maurice Andrews of Bethel posted the fastest time, 1:56:51. In second was Emilie Entrikin. Her time was 1:57:58. On Saturday, Entrikin had the fastest time, finishing in 1:47:50. Right behind her was Shawn Larson of Napaskiak with a time of 1:51:39. Larson took 3rd place honors overall. On day three, Entrikin finished at 1:45:26, coming in first again. Following close behind was Nicholas Ayapan at 1:48:40.
The Red Lantern Award was given to Tory Fitzpatrick.
