Warriors wrestle in Battle in the Interior dual tournament

Fiona Phelan and Landon Smith both were undefeated at the Battle of the Interior Duals, October 22-23, 2021 at Lathrop High School in Fairbanks, AK. Boys and girls teams from Wasilla, Palmer, West Valley, North Pole, Student Wrestling Development Program, Eagle River, South Anchorage, Redington School joined the Bethel Warriors and the host team of Lathrop High School in Fairbanks for the event.

The Warriors featured Liam Phelan (103), Sheldon Smith (112), Landon Smith (119), Paul Dyment (125), Aaron Mute (130), Joseph Smith (130), Charles Smith (145), Jordan Leinberger (152), Ellis Johnson (160), Mason Fitka (171), Cyrus Anaruk (189), and Landon Burke (215). The BRHS boys placed 5^th overall.

The Lady Warriors team members were Emilie Madson (103), Cadence Cedars (112), Brielle Herron (125), and Fiona Phelan (130). Their team finished in 4^th place.

For the boys Landon Smith was undefeated 9-0 in the tournament. Joseph Smith posted an 8-1 record with his only loss coming from South Anchorage’s Dylan Shaw. Dyment and Sheldon Smith both went 6-3. Fitka’s record was 5-4. Mute was 5-3 and Charles Smith posted 5-2.

Leinberger, Johnson, Anaruk, and Burke also posted wins.

For the girls Cedars went 2-1, Herron posted 2-2, Phelan and was undefeated 3-0.
