Use caution, common sense

by Peter Twitchell

I have been observing how men push their trucks in and around smaller weaker cars. These men are aggressive even in traffic using their powerful 8 cylinder stepped up trucks.
When the power mongers are weaving in and out of traffic, the smaller cars are at their mercy. Just one wrong move and the careful, courteous driver would be in a serious wreck.
Then there are the impatient, always in a hurry, careless drivers. They sit there honking their horns at drivers who are waiting their turn to merge into traffic. Everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere.
Driving on the Glenn Highway going the legal speed limit often other drivers are moving 15 miles above the posted speed limit! I witnessed a speeder backending another vehicle and flipping over and rolling. No common sense sometimes resulting in serious and expensive accidents, when it really isn’t necessary and could have easily been avoided.
Summer is quickly approaching when there will be an increase in traffic deaths both cars, trucks and motorcyclists. It’s like a battlefield out on the highways. Use caution, common sense, and drive defensively. Watch out for the other guy and have a safe summer!
