Unalakleet Wolfpack shines at Nome Invitational

Ourea Busk claims third consecutive victory.

The Unalakleet Wolfpack Cross Country team delivered outstanding performances at the Nome Invitational 5K race today, with junior standout Ourea Busk leading the way. Busk captured her third consecutive Nome Invite XC Running title with a winning time of 21:08, demonstrating her dominance on the course yet again.

Adding to the success for the Wolfpack girls, Isabella Eller placed 4th, while Cedar Busk and Ayuu Roesch finished strong in 10th and 12th places.

In the boys’ race, Teyer Johnson impressed with a time of 20:21, securing 7th place overall and emerging as the 2nd fastest runner from the Bering Strait School District (BSSD). Teammates Trenton, Gus, and Nathan also put in solid efforts, finishing 20th, 34th, and 36th.

The younger runners of the Wolfpack continued to make their mark in the middle school division. Alex Ivanoff claimed 2nd place in the girls’ race. Turi Busk finished close behind in 4th place, Avery Johnson earned 10th, and Mattea Vink crossed the line in 31st.

For the boys, Ezra Jack finished 2nd, narrowly getting out-sprinted at the finish after leading most of the race.
