Unalakleet Wolfpack Mix-Six Season concludes at Western Conference Tournament

UNALAKLEET, Alaska – The Unalakleet Wolfpack’s mix-six volleyball season came to an end at the Western Conference Tournament, which they hosted this past weekend. The Wolfpack, entering as the sixth seed, played with determination and resilience across multiple matches, finishing the season with a 9-10 record.

Unalakleet opened the tournament with a win over Savoonga in straight sets, 25-12, 25-8, 25-9.

In the second round, the team faced third-seeded Shaktoolik and fell in straight sets, 21-25, 21-25, 14-25. The Wolfpack bounced back in the consolation bracket, defeating Koyuk (25-18, 25-11, 25-9) and Teller (25-6, 25-17, 25-16). Their run ended with a consolation semifinal loss to Shishmaref, 15-25, 14-25, 23-25.

The Wolfpack earned the Academic Award for having the highest team GPA among all participating schools. Junior Isaac Smith was named to the 12-person All-Tournament Team for his exceptional play, while senior LenaMarie Ivanoff was recognized with the “I Love This Game” Award for her positive attitude and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Seniors Trenton Towarak, LenaMarie Ivanoff, Kasen Johnson, Cedar Busk, and Doreen Cooper concluded their volleyball careers with Unalakleet. Their leadership and contributions will be greatly missed as the program looks to build on their example next season.
