Smith of Bethel earns All-American wrestling honors at USAW tournament

Bethel has it’s 6th High School Folkstyle All-American in Junior Landon Smith. This tournament, hosted by USA Wrestling, bestowed All-American honors on the top 8 place finishers in their respective weight classes.

The USAW High School National Recruiting Showcase tournament held in the Xtream Arena and GreenState Family Fieldhouse in Coralville, IA.

Smith had a tough first round match vs. the eventual champion, two time Alabama State Champ Yanni Vines in the 113 lb. weight division. He then reeled off 3 wins on the consolation side to earn a berth in the 5th place match. Match results are below.

5th Place Match – Dawson Johnson (Crass Trained-The Weigh In Club) won by decision over Landon Smith (Dec 3-1).
