Search volunteers with Bethel Search and Rescue and other partners from throughout the state and local neighboring villages have been diligently seeking for missing boater/hunter Carl Flynn of Bethel.
Flynn was last known to be setting up moose camp upriver with Shane McIntyre and Justin Crow, also of Bethel. They had been missing since August 30th, 2022. The remains of McIntyre and Crow were found and recovered – McIntyre was found near Bethel’s Small Boat Harbor on September 22nd, and Crow was found nearly 20 miles downriver in Napakiak Slough on September 23rd. Many condolences to the families and friends who are grieving.
The Bethel Search and Rescue group has been updating the community with the search efforts since the beginning of the search mission. The boat still hasn’t been found, although debris belonging to the hunters has been found. Travelers on the river are asked to please keep an eye out for Carl Flynn.
