On March 18th, 2022 we were at State 1A basketball tournament when we got the news that our Congressman Don Young passed away. We were shocked, saddened, concerned for all of Alaska. What a loss. Governor Sean Parnell (2009-2014) was on the court when he made the announcement. I was busy shooting the game in progress and I could feel my heart drop. Don was the longest-serving Republican in the history of the U.S. House of Representatives. He was the Dean of the House and he loved our home state, his beloved Alaska. He served for 25 terms, 49 years. It was an honor to know you Uncle Don, may you rest in peace. Condolences to Joni and Sister and their families, his wife Ann, and family and friends of our defender, protector, champion for all of Alaska.
