Remains found

On October 25, 2021, the Alaska State Troopers were notified by 59-year-old Fox resident Robert Bridges that his wife 65-year-old Fox resident Kimberly Bridges was missing from their home. Troopers began a thorough search for Kimberly, however, they were unable to locate her. The nature of the report was highly suspicious, and the Alaska Bureau of Investigation began a multi-month investigation into the disappearance of Kimberly Bridges.

On May 25, 2022, a tour group located human remains just off of the Dalton Highway near the Yukon River bridge. Troopers responded to the scene, identified the remains as Kimberly Bridges, and sent her body to the State Medical Examiner for autopsy. Preliminary information from the State Medical Examiner determined that the death was a homicide, which was consistent with evidence that Troopers identified at the scene and had uncovered during their investigation.

On June 10, 2022, investigators arrested Robert Bridges on one count of Murder 1 and he was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center and held on a $1,000,000 bail. The investigation was supported by Fairbanks AST Patrol, Fairbanks AST Criminal Suppression Unit, and the Alaska Criminal Intelligence Center.
