Plane down in Bethel, all survive

An aircraft incident at Bethel Airport occurred on Monday, July 8, 2019 at approximately 3:20 p.m. The Bethel Fire Department responded with one ambulance, one fire engine, and one ladder truck to the report of an aircraft crash located at the Bethel Airport. Everyone on board the plane survived. Upon arrival, department personnel assumed Incident Command and observed one small plane operated by Grant Aviation crashed on its side and in flames at the end of the runway. State of Alaska Department of Transportation (DOT) personnel reported that all five passengers were evacuated from the aircraft along with the pilot. Three passengers were transported to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital (YKDRH) via a fire department ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Fire department personnel assisted DOT Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters (ARFF) with fire suppression activities. Once extinguished, Bethel Fire Department apparatus and personnel returned to the fire station.
