Patrick was born in Pilot Station in 1947, the son of Milo and Eunice Minock. His father Milo Minock was also a revered artist. Both men have work in the collections of the Alaska State Museum in Juneau. Patrick has painted murals for many school buildings the most recent and largest at the Saint Mary’s school. His drawings typically depict the people and the Native culture of the Yukon Region. His work has been displayed in galleries and art shows across Alaska.

After high school Patrick received a full scholarship to attend the Institute of American Indian Arts in New Mexico. Here he met his future wife, Janet Antoine.

They returned together to Pilot Station and were married in the Catholic Church. Their family grew to seven children but they were saddened by the death of one son, as an infant and another – a promising artist – at age 20.

Patrick was a loving father always surrounded by his wife and children. When he became a grandfather, he was always bouncing a toddler on his knee.

Patrick and his wife Janet took up residence in Anchorage in 2004. He missed the village and his relatives in Pilot Station. He went home as often as he could.

In 2013, he worked with writer, Sandra Kleven, illustrating a book designed to protect Alaska’s children from sexual abuse. He has written and illustrated another book for children about his early life that will be published early in 2022.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Eunice Milock, his sons, Patrick Jr. and Eric, and his siblings John, Olga and James.

He is survived by his wife Janet, and his children, June, Allen, John, Naomi, and Nastashia. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
