Pan Fried Moose Steaks

by Millie Bentley

Greetings. Here is a delicious and easy recipe that you can make with some moose steaks just in time for moose hunting season. The original recipe calls for ribeye, but you can easily substitute the meat. It is delicious!

Pan Fried Steak with Tomato/Onion

Tomato/Onion

1 tablespoon butter

1 select onion, minced

2 pints of small cherry tomatoes

Salt and pepper

In a stainless stell or non-stick skillet, melt butter. Add onions and tomatoes, plus salt and pepper to taste. Cook over medium heat three to four minutes. Meanwhile, prepare steak.

Steak in Garlic Oil

4 boneless ribeye (or moose) steaks, about 1 inch thick (8 ounces each)

3 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

3-4 cloves minced garlic

Heat a large skillet (cast iron is best) and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Season steaks with salt and pepper. When oil smokes, add steaks and cook over medium-high heat about four minutes per side for medium. Remove steak to warm platter. Add two tablespoons olive oil to skillet with minced garlic and stir fry only about a minute until garlic is light brown. Dispose of garlic and pour oil onto steaks. Serve with the tomato/onion side dish. Yum. Yum. Yum.

Until next week, vaya con Dios, amigos.
