I remember when I was a boy between the ages of 5 years old and 10 years old. Every day was a beautiful day on the Kuskokwim River. I loved to go outside every single day the sun was shining bright. The sky was a light blue color.
One morning Dad said, after laying down on the grass, “Look up.”
I lay on the grass next to Dad and looked. I saw what appeared to be like a shiny ball passing over us so high I wouldn’t have seen it if Dad had not said anything!
A few minutes passed then another sheer light object came into view. Dad said, “That’s Sputnik.”
Dad said that’s Russia’s satellite. I lay on the ground by myself after that and saw another satellite. The sky when I think about it, was so pristine, before pollution darkened it.
We were berry picking once when I saw a white object floating over us. I said. “Dad, look!”
He saw it and said, “That’s a weather balloon.”
Another time Dad was hunting birds behind our camp and came back holding a deflated balloon and a plastic device. He read, “If found, return to Bethel Weather station.”
In 2022 and 2023 I saw on two different occasions white objects up in the sky. The news at the time was reporting “Chinese spying incidents.”
