A Bethel grand jury returned an indictment Tuesday (August 20th, 2024) for 41-year-old Nick Beebe. Beebe was indicted for Murder in the First Degree, two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, three counts of Assault in the First Degree, one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Second Degree, one count of Criminal Mischief in the Third degree, and six counts of Assault in the Third Degree.
Beebe is charged with causing the death of 38-year-old Lorna White on Aug. 6, 2024, in the village of Eek, 50 miles south of Bethel.
Beebe will be arraigned on Aug. 27 at 9 am in Bethel Superior Court before Judge William Montgomery. The charges in the indictment are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Beebe is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
