New Patient Housing

by Peter Twitchell

I was amazed when I went to ANMC this time to follow up on some health concerns I had. The new patient housing is awesome! Thanks for people who care about providing better services to the people of the state of Alaska like the AVCP-Calista Region.

And, thanks to the efforts of our State Senators like the late George Hohman, Senator Lyman Hoffman, Representative Ivan M. Ivan and others from our state Legislature and Washington Delegation like the late Senator Ted Stevens, Senator Lisa Murkowski and Congressman Don Young this is possible.

Thanks for the efforts of all the Doctors and Nurses of the Indian Health Service, Alaska Native Medical Center, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation and South Central Foundation without whose efforts to give us better health services all of this wouldn’t be possible.

I am thankful for all who cared and said something, voiced their thoughts and opinions, and pushed legislation to accomplish how far we’ve gone in this great endeavor.

I really feel good and assured that our children and grandchildren will reap the benefits of everyone’s efforts to give us the best health care services in our great State of Alaska! I wouldn’t want to live in any other state.

I was waiting for personal supplies from the Geneva Woods Pharmacy and was extended an extra day of stay at Quyana House, new patient housing, I really appreciate that!

The new Patient Housing at ANMC is a wonderful addition to the old housing structure where patients were staying in different hotels across the municipality of Anchorage. This centralization of patient housing makes easier access to medical services and health care for our Elders and people. Quyana Cakneq!
