March Madness conference tournaments

March Madness is here and we always look forward to this time of year after a long winter. Basketball fires up fans from all over our YK delta home. Here are the venues and dates for the 1A and 2A conferences which will be happening this week and the 3A and 4A tournaments, which are the following week.

The Lower Kuskokwim School District Coastal Conference basketball tournament will be on March 4th-6th, 2023 in Bethel which is Saturday through Monday. This is due to Spring Break (March 6th-10th) and Bethel Regional High School will be hosting the 3A Western Conference Basketball Tournament (Bethel, Barrow, Kotzebue, Nome) on March 9th-11th at the WarriorDome.

• Alaska Coastal – March 4-6 at Bethel Regional HS

• Aleutian Chain (Boys) – March 2-4 at Sand Point

• Aleutian Chain (Girls) – March 1-4 at Newhalen

• Bering Sea – March 2-4 at Tukurngailnguq

• Golden Heart – March 2-4 at Northway

• Greater Kuskokwim – March 2-4 at Kalskag

• North Slope – March 2-4 at Atqasuk

• Northwest Arctic – March 1-4 at Kotzebue

• Peninsula – March 2-4 at Lumen Christi

• Southeast – March 1-4 at Mt. Edgecumbe

• Yukon Delta – Feb. 28 – Mar. 4 at Scammon Bay
