Alaska State Troopers in Bethel received a report of assault from the village of Akiachak on 6/6/2019 at about 0902 hours. Tribal Police Officers (TPOs) reported Matthew Pasitnak threatened them with an axe. Investigation revealed Pasitnak recklessly placed TPOs in fear of imminent serious physical injury with an axe. This occurred while Pasitnak was on conditions of release in another assault case, in which he allegedly threatened TPOs with a firearm. AST arrested Pasitnak and remanded him to YKCC without incident, where he was held on charges of Assault in the Third Degree and Violating Conditions of Release. Alcohol was a factor in this case.
