Let me lay down some basic Bible facts about the antichrist:
• The antichrist will be a man: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come until there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. (II Thessalonians 2:3, also see verse 4)
• The antichrist will be a genetic descendent of the people of the Roman Empire: …and the people of the prince that shall comeshall destroy the city [Jerusalem]… (Daniel 9:26) The people that destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD were the Romans, in context of Daniel 9:24-27, the “prince that shall come” is the antichrist. Therefore he will come from a nation that was part of the roman empire.
• The antichrist will establish a one world religion: And he [the religious leader, often called the false prophet] exerciseth all the power of the first beast [the antichrist] before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. (Revelation 13:12)
• The antichrist will try to destroy Christians: And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them… (Revelation 13:7)
• The antichrist will set up a one-world financial system, the mark of the beast: And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:16-17)
• The antichrist will be a political leader: After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things…And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. (Daniel 7:7-8,24)
Who are the ten horns?
The last point above indicates irrefutably that the anti-christ will come out of ten nations. The horns represent kings or presidents of these nations. The ten horned beast of Daniel also shows up in the Revelation: And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. (Revelation 13:1) For many years I have pondered who the ten nations might be. Not the United Nations, because that is a group of over 190 nations. The European Union seemed like a much more likely candidate, especially since it comprises much of the former Roman Empire. The problem is, the EU has 27 nations.
Is BRICS the ten-horned beast?
The BRICS nations formed an alliance in 2006. They are Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (joined in 2010). You might only count five nations there. Recently, however, in 2023 the BRICS nations invited six more nations to join the alliance. Those nations are Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. That would make eleven nations, except Argentina declined the invitation, making for ten nations. Of those ten nations, Egypt, parts of Saudi Arabia, and the South Africans of European descent are traceable to the Roman Empire. If BRICS is the ten-horned beast, we will see a world political figure rise up among BRICS and destroy three of the other leaders of their nations. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. (Daniel 7:7-8,24)
Every day brings us closer
To think that the ten-nation union, initiated in August 2023, and now only coming into fruition may be the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy is amazing and chilling. Friends, more than ever this should make us all want to be right with God, to be baptized in His name, and to be filled with His Spirit. Are you ready?
