Innocent lives

by Peter Twitchell

I am amazed about talk shows on TV, especially since the pandemic started in 2020. Many of them are of a personal nature, such as people who don’t have an idea whose baby they carried for nine months and now are beginning to wonder. In many cases the child has grown up not knowing their dad.

People argue in front of these father in question children. I feel embarrassed at times for them, and angry when the child has grown up fatherless, many times not finding their dad.

I grew up with a mom and dad. How in the world I wonder, does a mother or dad of these kids without a father figure cope? Grown men and women come on the talk show yelling and in some cases screaming. They appear to be genuinely concerned of the fact.

A happy and healthy family are sitting in front of their tv sets at home watching all of this chaos and drama unfolding right in front of them. For whatever reason parents of these lost children failed. I can only say about the grown ups who allowed and invited this total ruin into innocent lives of kids and their children as not knowing any better.

No one guided and showed kids how, why, nor led them to know the difference between right and wrong. Don’t get me wrong, even the best educated are led astray and down an unhealthy life if there is no love behind what we teach young minds. We also teach our children through example.

Talk show hosts get rich, no doubt about that. Some are helpful, those seek counseling for their troubled guests. Some hosts allow their guests to take their frustrations out on their stages – fighting and physical altercations live on stage fueling their fury.

We need more love and genuine good regard for our fellow human beings, not taking advantage of vulnerable people.
