Inmates who escaped from Bethel Jail back in custody

Wilson Beaver, age 43, and Carl Konig, age 31, escaped from the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center on Saturday, August 26th, 2017. Reports state that they crawled through a storm grate. Both were found on Sunday morning and are now at the jail.

The community was put on high alert following the disappearance of the two inmates, who are considered very dangerous. Beaver was convicted of burglary and sexual assault back in June. He is also a known sex offender. Konig has been charged with assault in the third degree – two counts, one of which involves the intent to injure another person with a weapon, and resisting or interfering with an arrest. Their escape is currently under investigation.
