The Greater Kuskokwim Region I cross country finals were held in Tuluksak on September 28th, 2024. The top three runners from each division will be headed to the Division III State Cross Country finals to be held in Anchorage at Bartlett High School.
For the girls, two runners from Kalskag made it to the top three. Winning the race in first place was junior Alysha Levi. She crossed the finish line in 25:07. In second place was Kiley Hayden of Sleetmute, also a junior. Her time was 26:08. In third place was Lakeisha Levi of Kalskag. She finished the course in 27:22.
On the boys’s side, a pair of runners from Akiachak took the top two spots. Bryson Kasayulie, a junior, took first place crossing the finish line at 20:22. His teammate Charlie Chingliak placed second. His time was 20:26. Rounding out the top three was sophomore Daveion Jasper of Akiak. His finishing time was 21:38.
