Grant applications now being accepted for Rural Public Safety Infrastructure Projects

DPS is seeking grant proposals from eligible applicants for funding through the Emergency Federal Law Enforcement Assistance (EFLEA) Program to address the critical public safety infrastructure needs in rural Alaska.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety seeks proposals from eligible applicants for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, FFY 2019 Emergency Federal Law Enforcement Assistance (EFLEA) Program.

Eligible applicants include Alaska Native organizations, Alaska Native villages, and federally recognized Indian tribes.

EFLEA grant funds are available to address the critical public safety infrastructure needs in rural Alaska for prefabricated office space and holding cell facilities and for repair and renovation of existing facilities with the goal of ensuring safe and habitable space to support law enforcement services within Alaska’s rural communities.

The total amount of EFLEA funds available is approximately $6 million.

All awards are subject to availability of appropriated funds and to any modifications or additional requirements that may be imposed by law.
