Godspeed, Congressman Young

by Peter Twitchell

So long to Alaska’s Representative and friend, Don Young. I’ve always felt he was our representative and friend in Congress for fighting for the best interests of Alaskans and his State.

I was fortunate to meet him personally at the KYUK Station. He was there to help celebrate its birth along with Senator Ted Stevens and the Board of Directors. The times I remember being in his presence always without fail Representative Young reminded me that I was a “Young man”.

He smiled and thanked me each time.

A recently as 2019 Representative Young and his wife Anne were seated directly behind me at the Anchorage Baptist Temple worshipping our Creator Almighty God Jesus Christ of Nazareth, reaffirming his faith in Almighty God.

Representative for all Alaska, Mr. Don Young in the last week took his last breath on a journey back to Alaska. Since his selection to the U.S. House of Representatives and Congress I cannot recall when he ever lost an election.

Thank you Representative Don Young for your dedication and service to Alaskans. We are forever grateful for the years you represented us deliberately with diligence. Again, Mr. Don Young, Godspeed to you for your reward in heaven for your unselfish work to make life better for all of us and humanity.

Quyana.
