Genevieve Kay Brothers

Feb. 17, 1966 – Feb. 20, 2021

Genevieve “Beaver” Brothers was born on Thursday, February 17, 1966 in Bethel, Alaska to Ruth and Elias Venes, and was the 8th of 10 daughters. Genevieve was a graduate of Bethel Regional High Scool, class of 1984. She worked various jobs, to include the Norma Jean Day Care Center, Ben Dale’s Gas, and Kemp Paulucci fish processing, to name a few.

In her younger years she enjoyed ice skating, playing lap game, “under blanket”, Atari, jacks, “Not It”, pool, listening to MTV and challenging her sisters to a mean game of Snertz.

Gen met and fell madly in love with James “Jim” Brothers in 1989 in Bethel, and married on a “Tuesday” October 27, 1998 in Henderson, Kentucky. Together, they raised 2 lovely daughters, Michelle Mae and Mary Catherine. They moved to Washington, Indiana in 1992 where they raised their girls and welcomed 2 sons-in-law and 4 grandchildren, “Monga” and Papa’s loves of their life.

Genevieve is survived by her husband Jim, 2 daughters, Michelle Windward (Jeff), Mary Hinkle (Alex), grandsons Oakley and Breighden, and granddaughters Jillian and Alexis.

Genevieve is preceded in death by her Mom (Ruth Venes), Dad (Elias), Step-mom (Bernie), brother (Leonard), and sister (Dub).

Gen is survived by her sisters, Dit Hoffman (Bobby), Shoonty Rost, Ingie Garrison (Pete), Jo Daniel (Jacob), Henri Knight, Connie Sankwich (Ken), Lisa Waters (Trevis), and Janet Gray (Mike), along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
