Notice of Proposed Issuance of an
Integrated Waste Management Permit to Donlin Gold, LLC
Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has tentatively determined to adopt the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) draft Reclamation Plan Approval (A20186226) and closure cost estimate through reference into Waste Management Permit No. 2017DB0001 and issue the permit Donlin Gold, LLC.
Proposed Project and Location
Donlin Gold, LLC proposes the development of a gold mine in southwestern Alaska, about 277 miles west of Anchorage, 145 miles northeast of Bethel, and 10 miles north of the village of Crooked Creek.
Public Meeting and Hearing
The Department is holding a public meeting followed by a formal public hearing. The public meeting will involve brief presentations summarizing the draft permit followed by a question and answer period. The public hearing provides the public with an opportunity to submit oral comments regarding the draft permit. Public may also submit written comments in lieu of or in addition to providing oral testimony at the hearing.
