FNBA wins award

For the fourth year running, readers of Alaska Business magazine have chosen First National Bank Alaska as the Best Place to Work in the publication’s annual Best of Alaska Business (BOAB) Awards.

“First National’s mission statement, drawn up nearly 80 years ago, has always included having a pleasant working environment for our employees,” said Board Chair and CEO Betsy Lawer. “It’s an integral part of the bank’s culture and we’re honored by this recognition of First National’s focus on our employees for the fourth year in a row.

“It’s one reason why those employees consistently provide superior customer service to our neighbors around the state.”

First National will host celebrations on July 12 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at all 28 branches statewide to share their “four-of-a-kind” achievement with the communities they serve.

“Congratulations, First National, on your fourth year as Best Place to Work,” said Jason Martin, Alaska Business vice president and general manager. “For nearly a century, you’ve been a great example of what it means to be the Best of Alaska Business.”

Alaskan-owned and -operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state, and by providing banking services to meet their needs across the nation and around the world. In 2019, Alaska Business readers voted the bank the “Best of Alaska Business” in the Best Place to Work category for the fourth year in a row. In 2018, American Banker recognized First National as a “Best Bank to Work For” and MSN.com named First National the most admired company in the state. In October 2018, First National received the Rita Sholton Large Business of the Year Award from the Alaska Chamber.
