Claire Dyment of the Bethel Wrestling Club is a Triple Crown Winner in the 14U Girls Division. Dyment won each tournament: Thursday’s Folkstyle, Friday’s Greco-Roman and Saturday’s Freestyle tournaments at the Alaska USA Wrestling State championships, congratulations!

We would also like to thank the many parents and community members that pledged our wrestlers in the Push-Up-A-Thon fundraiser. Without all of their generosity and support, it would have been very difficult and too costly for a lot of wrestlers to attend this tournament.
Out of the 58 wrestlers we had competing, we had to house and transport 28 wrestlers in two separate Air B and B’s and five minivans. We also had to feed everyone at both houses and while at the arena competing. We are very thankful for everyone’s support. I would also like to say a special thank you to all of our coaches this year. We don’t get paid to do this, we just love the sport of wrestling and we especially like seeing all of the kids grow with this sport. Coaches: Regina Lieb, Marty Smith, Zach Pleasant, Hans Holkesvik, Pat O’Brien and Velson Kuqo.
Mind you, this was our first set of official matches for most of our wrestlers. Our Club competed at the 2023 Alaska USA Wrestling State Tournament that was held in Wasilla last Thursday-Saturday. Some pictures can be seen on the Bethel Wrestling FaceBook page I believe.
