Dorothy Rose (Guest) Eggerman was born in Bethel on November 18, 1955, to Archpriest Zachary and Matuska Sophia Guest. She was baptized in Kasigluk and her Godmother was the late Katherine Tinker. Dorothy was married to James Eggerman in Kasigluk, AK and they had one daughter, Krystal Ann Eggerman.
Dorothy was raised in Kasigluk where she lived most of her earlier years. She served in the National Guard in the ‘70s for 7 years and was honorable discharged as Private First Class. Dorothy raised her daughter Krystal in Kasigluk and spent time between Bethel, AK and Anchorage, AK when she became a grandmother to Krystal’s first-born son, Elijah Nathaniel Anderson. Krystal had 8 children and Dorothy loved all of them wholeheartedly. Dorothy spent her final years in Bethel.
She was well known for her storytelling abilities and quickly became one of the favorite aunts to all her nieces and nephews. She often told stories about camping with her family, her time in the National Guard, her gymnastic abilities, and our favorite one was when she saw Bigfoot for the first time.
Her stories were theatrical and she never failed to make her listeners smile. Dorothy also strongly believed in God and Jesus and prayed daily and fiercely. She especially loved Slavic time and attended whenever she was able.
Dorothy will be deeply missed and forever carried in our hearts.
Dorothy is survived by her siblings: Xenia Jackson, Martha Guest, Moses Guest, George Guest, and Alex Guest. Nieces and nephews: Martha Charles, Irene Thomas, Zach Active, Maureen Nicholas, Sergie Active, Helen Active, Katherine Andrew, Thomas Active, Roderick Jackson, Yvonne Jackson, Sheila Roehl, Sandra Guest, Charles Guest, Keane Guest, Christian Beaver.
